Linking memory segment 0A0A01…
The doctor comes down a platform on the wall, speaking to us with a slightly mechanical voice. He appears to be organic, but is completely covered in leather, with goggles covering his eyes and thick gloves on his hands. He knows who we are, and from his conversation seems to indicate that he intended for us to come here. =INTERNAL FREE WILL CONFIRMED. STATEMENT EXAGGERATED= He offers us a chance to surrender and be experimented on, although he will not say what he is looking for, or be killed. I will not be caged again. All of us refuse, and the Doctor attacks while oozes crawl up out of the pool in the center of the room. =OOZE CONTROL ORIGINATING FROM MASK? CONFIRMATION REQUIRED=
We defeat the doctor, but the damage to the building is severe and the tower begins to tilt erratically toward the adjacent structure. We grab the doctor’s body, leap through the window to the neighboring building, and make out way up to a landing once more. Grabbing a skycoach, we return to Bren to plan our next move.
On the trip, we introduce ourselves to the man who was held captive by the Doctor – a shaman by the name of Kevian. =MENTAL CONDITION QUESTIONABLE= He also bears a strange dragonmark, much like the rest of us. The doctor’s body is stripped and examined, and she turns out to be female. Her gloves, mask and daggers contain some kind of technology that none of us recognize. =STORE SCHEMATICS FOR LATER ANALYSYS= She also possesses a series of folios containing information on different subject – ourselves included. All of us have folders that are marked ‘M’, including Bren and Alric, although Tani and Mazram’s folios are not. The pictures, addresses and behavior seem to all be correct. Disturbing. Mazram’s folio has a note in it saying that damage to his office should be minimized, and Tani’s folio implies that she may have some relationship with House Tarkanin. Very disturbing.
There are four sheets in the collection of people we do not know and that are not marked as deceased – a magewright in Passage, a Valeni warrior, last seen in Taer Valestas, a hobgoblin mercenary with unknown whereabouts, and a half orc scribe, last seen in Patrahk’n, beyond the edge of civilization. Another decision looms before us, and perhaps Bren or Mazram’s study will be able to shed some more light on this.
